whoa i’m double-posting but it literally doesn’t matter i love dreamwidth i love this place it feels like posting in antarctica. this post will probably not make sense to anyone but me but i enjoyed putting this together v much.

to quote jay som: “there are many 'vibe' haters out there, i think we should all chill and let people (me) use that word every time they want to describe something. 🙏”

this is kinda me w astrology... i will be naming Vibes after my big 3. and matching movies to them…

cancer the heart is at the core. it's either gouged out or there's a deep tenderness. emotions over plot. moody lighting. echoes of the past. a lonely childhood. the warmth of family. true undying love.

libra quick-witted, charming dialogue. clean, bright, simple, romantic. gentle but incisive. strong mise en scene and cinematography. flowers on the table. a breakup. mary oliver poem. slice of life.

sagittarius chaotic, messy, gritty. humanistic. philosophical questions. unbound spirit and reckless abandon. crude but honest. getting chased through the street. partying. violence. questioning existence.

yes,,, creating some narrative to explain my varied taste in things that are extremely intense + emotional and also light + beautiful. it’s almost as if human beings contain multitudes! ah still. it was fun to look at it like this. almost like a gradation scale or something. i think i'm very much into style over substance, i don't mind meandering or plotless vibes as long as i feel something. it's either that or like. the opposite - over-written and dialogue heavy... i love a rly strong screenplay. i also really like character exploration and specificity - personal and close to home stuff instead of grand and sprawling. a coming of age hates to see me coming. i'm a sucker for those. but overall if it's smart, emotional or even better BOTH i am a mouse being lured into a cheese trap...

some of these are v personal bc theyre nostalgic / comfort watches.. others make me physically ill and i don't think i could rewatch /pos but oouuugh these are all so special. highly recommend. me smiling at this list like i didn’t make it nsdjfdsjkfdjk
